The Arcade Bar is located in the York Street Arcade, and it is a living monument to all things 80s from the movie posters to the cassette tape bar.
Co-owners Shylie Woods and Dr Brad Goldsmith have owned the space for a number of years, but only recently decided to turn it into a bar.
"Brad already had most of the games already so we thought why not turn the space into a bar using those games," Ms Woods said.
In other news:
About 10 classic arcade machines line the bar, some of which are more than 40 years old including an original 1978 edition of Space Invaders.
Not only has the bar been visited by 80s kids looking for a nostalgia fix, but many younger pop culture lovers have frequented the bar, Dr Goldsmith says.
"I was a teenager in the 80s, I remember all these things from back in the good old days and then I grew up and thought 'I can buy all the lollies I want'," he said.
