The Tasmanian Electoral Commission has started to exclude candidates from the Legislative Council election and distribute preferences after the postal vote count finished at 10am.
The first to go will be independent candidate Vivienne Gale followed by Greens candidate Jack Davenport and independent David Fry.
In other news:
The election's frontrunner, Liberal candidate Jo Palmer, is likely to benefit from Mr Fry's votes while next in the race, independent Janie Finlay, should benefit from votes from Labor and Greens candidates.
As of Tuesday morning, Ms Palmer had won 41.5 per cent of primary votes and Ms Finlay had won 30.3 per cent.
Labor candidate Jess Green won 9 per cent of all first-preference votes and Mr Davenport had won 7.4 per cent.
Mr Fry won 8.3 per cent of all primary votes and Ms Gale won 3.3 per cent.
