As the state gets the return-to-play ball rolling, some hectic months are looming large.
In an attempt to help readers navigate these uncertain waters, The Examiner has compiled a new-look Tasmanian sport calendar for the remainder of 2020 and beginning of 2021.
It will see the traditional changeover between winter and summer sports pushed back into October while many events adapt to new timeslots and others take a year out due to COVID-19.
Staple Tasmanian events like the Supercars, Launceston and Burnie 10s, Tour of Tasmania cycle race and Launceston, Hobart and Devonport cups all lived to fight another day.
Statewide competitions in football, soccer, netball and basketball all appear to have survived, eventually.
Other major events, like the Launceston Cycling Classic, national under-18 hockey championships and what would have been the 29th running of Targa Tasmania will have 2020 forever absent from their honour rolls.
And entire competitions were forced to bite the bullet including the NTFA, NBL1, Hockey One and Australian Netball League.
Many events remain in limbo including Hawthorn and North Melbourne's Tasmanian fixtures, the Christmas Carnivals and numerous horse races such as the Tasmanian Derby, Tasmanian Oaks and Easter Cup.
But the upside appears to be a bumper motorsport period either side of Christmas with Rally Tasmania and the Supercars visiting before the Australian Racing Group graces both Symmons Plains and Baskerville.
Concerted efforts have been made to ensure the information is accurate at the time of going to press.
