After back-to-back centuries against Westbury and Mowbray, the 26-year-old is well on track to becoming Cricket North's leading run-scorer for the second season running.
Last weekend's 128 was enough to see Philip leapfrog teammate Sean Harris (555 runs at 61.67) at the top of the leaderboard and take his own season tally to 590 runs at 84.29.
Despite the pair's success this season, Philip said it was the form of Tom Waller, Sisitha Jayasinghe and Anders Bulow that would help the Knights match the potency of the reigning champions heading into finals.

"Now that the likes of Mark Nutting and Alec Smith and those other good run-scorers have left the club, someone needed to stand up," the Physiotas physiotherapist said.
"Myself and Sean have had pretty good years personally - Sean's really led from the front batting at three and averaging 60 which is almost amazing because you rarely get not-outs at that position.
"The knock on South Launny the last couple of years has been relying on just one or two with the bat, whereas now our whole batting team is stepping up.
"The last couple of weeks we've had Anders Bulow getting 80-odd and Tom Waller getting a good 80 last week as well.
"Last year was a bit disappointing for us - we'll learn from that and make some changes and I feel like we're a better team collectively this year than last year so we'll fancy our chances."

Set to turn 27 in August, Philip credits his sparkling form to accepting greater responsibility within the team and stepping into the role of club high performance manager.
"We've just tried to train differently with a bit of purpose and a bit of thought behind our training, so I think that's helped me personally and hopefully it's rubbing off on some of the others," Philip said.
"In terms of runs I don't think I've ever been as consistent - especially in scoring some bigger runs."
