Australian hopefuls Alex Bolt and Jordan Thompson did their best at shaking the tree, almost defeating Dominic Thiem and Fabio Fognini respectively but here are the top five upsets of the Australian Open so far.
An honourable mention goes to 15-year-old Coco Gauff for defeating Venus Williams.

Marton Fucsovics d Denis Shapovalov - 6-3 6-7 6-1 7-6
Coming into the tournament defeating Stefanos Tsitsipas and Alexander Zverev at the ATP Cup, Shapovalov's Grand Slam looked bright until met with Hungarian Fucsovics.
Ranked 67, the 27-year-old won a junior Grand Slam in 2010 but has struggled to fully make his mark on senior competition, getting the chance to equalise his career-best performance (fourth round) when he faces Tommy Paul.
Ernests Gulbis d Felix Auger-Aliassime - 7-5 4-6 7-6 6-4
Many plaudits thought the career of the fiery Latvian was over, but Gulbis has momentarily proved them wrong this Australian Open by making (at least) the third round.
Charging his way through qualifying, the 31-year-old - whose ranking has slipped to No. 256 - enjoyed a semi-final run at the French Open back in 2014 and hadn't passed the first round of a Grand Slam since 2018 before this week.
Ons Jabeur d Johanna Konta - 6-4 6-2
Australian-born Brit Johanna Konta has reached quarter-finals or better at every Grand Slam, which is why, despite only just returning from a knee injury, her first-round exit to Tunisian Ons Jabeur is a shock.
Having not won a match at the Open in her previous three attempts, Jabeur warmed up for the tournament by qualifying for the Hobart International and is set to face the retiring Caroline Wozniacki in the third round.
Tommy Paul d Grigor Dimitrov - 6-4 7-6 3-6 6-7 7-6
Cruelly denied a wildcard at his home Grand Slam last year despite being ranked only 12 places outside direct acceptance, American Tommy Paul is proving his worth to the tennis world, progressing to a third-round clash with Fucsovics.
Knocking off Bulgarian Dimitrov in five massive sets, the 22-year-old is now ranked No. 80 and has the backing of Nick Kyrgios with the pair previously playing doubles together.
Alja Tomljanovic d Anastasia Sejastova - 6-1 6-1
Providing tight contests against some of the world's best, if Tomljanovic can get a seed at Grand Slam, she will be dangerous but until then, demolishing the tournament's No.31 will have to do.
Returning the favour from a 6-2 6-1 drubbing at the hands of Sevastova in 2019, the 26-year-old Croatian-turned-Australian breezed through round one before falling to multiple Grand Slam champion Garbine Muguruza.
