George Bailey and James Faulkner have both been named in the Hurricanes' 13-man squad for the Christmas Eve duel with Melbourne Renegades at Bellerive Oval having missed Sunday's heavy 52-run loss to their former side, Melbourne Stars, a move coach Adam Griffith said was strategic.
"It's something we've been planning for a couple of months now as we knew there was a really heavy travel schedule early," he said following the defeat.

"Alice Springs, with conditions there plus travelling here [Moe] by bus today, bus back to spend the night in Melbourne, flight tomorrow and play the next day.
"History tells us with those guys that we need to give them time, we need to make sure their bodies are right."
Sitting with an even ledger after two games so far, the men in purple are faced with three home clashes in the coming weeks - Renegades on Tuesday, a rematch with the Stars at UTAS Stadium on December 30 and back to Bellerive on January 3 to face Chris Lynn's Brisbane Heat.
David Moody and Jake Doran, who were both inclusions to the squad for the Stars loss, were omitted for the returning pair.
With Afghan import Qais Ahmad the hero in the side's opening win against Sydney Sixers, an import closer to home was the villain against the Stars.
Pakistan's Haris Rauf, who only last weekend was plying his trade for Cricket Tasmania Premier League side, Glenorchy, made the Hurricanes pay, taking 5-27.
"We had Miller and Qais locked away for the start of the tournament and he [Rauf] wouldn't have played for us at the start," Griffith added.
The Renegades game gets underway at 2:45pm.
