A development application has been lodged with the City of Launceston council for a 15-lot subdivision at Techno Park. A central roadway will run through the subdivision, with the lots surrounding it.
The area is already zoned general residential.
The blocks will vary in size from 566 squared metres up to 1800 squared metres.
Crash history for the area is low, for the level of traffic activity at the junction, the development application's traffic survey said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Techno Park drive has about 2800 vehicle movements per day, with most of that being peak hour traffic. Quarantine Road has about 8200 movements.
It is expected there would be an increase of 135 vehicle movements per day, if this application was approved.
The property is not within priority habitat or part of the water quality overlays.
The site has an existing dwelling, a large shed and two smaller sheds, which will form lot one of the subdivision.
Barrington North is behind the proposal.
The application is open for comment until December 16.
