Port Dalrymple School's junior team won best book in the Write a Book in a Day competition, within the division of Tasmania, South Australia, and Victoria.
In the competition, teams of 10 are given 12 hours to write and illustrate a book from start to finish and are given certain parameters that must also be included in the story.

Pupils Sarah Button and Ashton Turner said it was a great experience.
"The first half of it was really calm, but by the end of it, we were like, 'hurry up, let's get what we can publish'," Sarah said.
She said their story was called The Cruise Heist and was about a king, a paramedic, and a cockroach on a cruise ship.
Ashton said teams were given the parameters of the what the story had to contain, such as the characters.
"Then we needed to add to that," he said.
They both said it was really amazing to be recognised for all the hard work.
Principal Jeanna Bolton said the competition was a great opportunity for the school.
"Especially for our grade 5 and 6 students. The teamwork was amazing and so was the work that they put into the book," she said.
Launceston competition co-ordinator Doug Grubert said he was thrilled the school was so successful.
"In the past with these community writing events at the Launceston Library, we've had a highly commended book from Brooks High School and Invermay Primary School, a best illustrated from Launceston Church Grammar Primary School," Mr Grubert said.
"But this is the first time we've taken out the best book gong, so we're really proud."
Mr Grubert said more than 100 children competed in the competition across two days.
"We want the participation, we want the students engaging in the 21st-Century learning," he said.
"So have a team go so well is great, but in terms of us looking towards the future, we hope this will be a catalyst for other schools to get on board."
