Striped trumpeter have come aboard off St Helens and Bicheno, where some makos were also reported.
An angler using squid bait in Great Oyster Bay near Swansea boated ten sizeable flathead from shallows close to Nine Mile Beach while other nice flathead came to seaward of Anderson Bay, off the Sandy Points and out towards Ninth Island.
The fly fishing competition along the Mersey and Meander Rivers means that stretches will be closed to anglers from midnight on November 24 to midnight on December 6.
On the Mersey this stretch is from Olivers Rd Bridge down to Hoggs Bridge and on the Meander from Huntsman Lake Dam down to Barretts Bridge.
Many nice brown and rainbow trout are reported being boated from Lake Leake by anglers casting hard and soft plastic, while others have been pleased with the quality and quantity of browns from Four Springs and Arthurs Lakes.
The Inland Fisheries Service management team will talk about trout in the Great Lake Community Centre, Miena, Friday, November 22 from 7pm.
The team will discuss improving access for all anglers, creel surveys, the population of brownies in the Bradys chain of waters and the possible reopening of Lake Sorell next year. A light supper will be provided.
