Hobart's Jarred Gilroy and North-West pair Max Green and Morgan Gaffney all impressed as a windy yet warm day greeted the first carnival of the season.
Launceston's 2014 men's gift winner and 2015 runner-up, Gilroy was blistering over 120m to return to the top of the podium.
He also finished second in the 70m and completed the trifecta with a third-place finish in the 400m.
Another Southerner took out the women's gift, with second back-marker and former Burnie gift winner Kiani Allen just holding off back-marker and fellow former Burnie gift winner Gaffney.

Eve Bell, who was the only woman to qualify for the open 400m final, finished third.
Green was another to excel in multiple events, bolting to victory in the 1000m and 400m to impress carnival co-ordinator Craig Boon.
"He looks to be in really good nick," Boon said of the former St Brendan Shaw College student.
"He looks like he's in for a good season based on his early season form.
"It was a very strong run in the 1000m because two-and-a-half laps into that breeze was pretty tough going so it needed a stronger runner and he gutsed that out really well.
"He's got a really nice technique and he'll have a good season I think."
