Claiming his first win as a trainer in 2017 with Wynburn Cutie, Englund last week produced a promising type in Wynburn Lethal who set the pace with a cracking 30.02 win in the first heat.
The Dyna Double One - Wynburn Arrow bitch was faultless from the coveted red box leading throughout to score by a length from Telfer with Inner Circle third.
Wynburn Lethal has raced only six times for two wins. Her brilliant box speed is a great asset which could see her lead or sit close behind the leaders however this will be the first time she has exited from box 5.
Kennel-mate Wynburn Redson qualified for the final on the back of a second to Yellow Knife beaten 8-1/4 lengths in a personal best 30.67.
In-form Flowery Gully trainer Mick Louth continued on his winning way in the second heat when Yellow Knife displayed good box manners to lead all the way from box 1 in 30.10.
The Greyhound Recorder's early market has the Ted Medhurst-trained Connected favourite at $2.80 ahead of Wynburn Lethal at $4.40, Telfer $4.60 and Yellow Knife at $5.
The Richard Stamford Perpetual Stakes is the other highlight of the program attracting a great field.
