Riverside Primary School's capital works redevelopment was opened with an action-packed assembly filled with songs, dance, and words of thanks from both students and special guests.
The new classrooms, designed by former Artas architect Heath Clayton, were designed about the pedagogy of inquiry-based learning instead of teaching and learning to fit the buildings.
The redevelopment included four new classrooms, a discovery centre, an external learning plaza, revamped entrance, a student kitchen, astro-turf soccer field, and classroom upgrades. It also included senior staff offices and a staff room.
Speaking at the ceremony, school pupils said the building had a great design with lots of natural light, was made with good materials, and there was a lot more room.
They also said made them want to go to school, it was a great learning space for everyone, and they appreciated all the work put into the redevelopment.
Student Aishwarya Ravichandran said: "I am privileged that I can learn in this school and work in these classrooms". Demi Giarrusso said it made her want to go to school more often.

Principal Jane Bovill thanked the school community for its support during the construction.
"We love our build, it is simply inspiring," she said.
Education Minister Jeremy Rockliff officially opened the space on Thursday.
"The $2.84 million modern redevelopment includes new and redeveloped learning environments, an outside learning plaza, student kitchen and new soccer fields," Mr Rockliff said.
"These facilities have been designed to support the school's growing student population and provide open and flexible spaces for staff and students, featuring attractive modern learning environments that support twenty-first-century learning approaches.
"I would like to congratulate Artas Architects and R and S Rosier Construction for their excellent work in creating spaces that engage, inspire and support our students."
Alongside musical performances at the opening, pupils also participated in National Simultaneous Song and performed the song We Are for the assembly.
