The popular restaurant near the waterfront between Kings and Royal parks was listed for sale on Friday - the first time in its 32-year history.
The ATO filed a winding up application in the Federal Court on July 31 against the business Salisbury Hallam Pty Ltd.

The matter was then heard in the court in Hobart on September 12 when it reached an agreed adjournment.
It will be back before the Federal Court on October 10 when a final order could be made, a court spokesperson said.
The majority of the plant and equipment will be included in the sale.
In the real estate advertisement, Hallams was described as a "well-known icon" which had been reconstructed from an assortment of Tasmanian timbers and home to Hallams Restaurant since 1996.
The sale closes on October 23.
