In hot conditions on the opening day in Linz-Ottensheim, Austria, 11 out of 12 Australian crews progressed to quarter or semi-finals.
This included Huon clubmates Sarah Hawe and Georgia Nesbitt.
In a new partnership with Sarah Pound, of NSW, in the lightweight women's double scull, Nesbitt, 27, booked a place in the quarter-finals later this week.
The Australians kept up with the race leaders to finish behind Italy, Canada and USA as all four crews progressed.
Hawe, 32, teamed up with Victorians Lucy Stephan and Katrina Werry plus South Australian Olympia Aldersey in a women's four which won their heat in a time of 6 minutes 38 seconds, making them the fastest finishers of all the heats.
The quartet have been dominant in the world rowing cup series and held off competition from reigning world champions USA to take out the win and progress to the semi-finals.
A year after claiming a world championship bronze medal in the women's eight, Tamar's Ciona Wilson, 27, has been named as a reserve.
Of the 11 successful Australian crews, six won their heats to make the next stage of the competition.
This also included the PR3 mixed coxed four, women's pair, men's four, men's quadruple scull and PR1 men's single scull.
Meanwhile the lightweight men's double and single sculls, men's double scull and men's pair all progressed to quarter-finals.
