After a quiet opening on Friday to the 2019 Australian Karate Federation national championships, the hosts fought back on Saturday with no less than seven medals.
State tournament director Garth Hall confirmed that all of the medal fancies had delivered in spades in front of delighted home support.
"It has been a very good day for Tassie," he said.
T'Meika Knapp was quick to break through for the state's first gold at the event.
The Hobart head instructor won the gold medal in the female veteran kumite final, adding a senior silver in the weight division kumite.
Knapp was one of five Tasmanian medallists in the grappling martial art, which is one of the three main disciplines of karate training, along with kata and kihon.
Annalise Beechey also captured a pair of medals, with a silver in the under-21 kumite and a bronze in the senior weight division.
Finlay Rossiter-Hill added an under-21 kumite silver in his 84-plus kg category.
Matilda Andersson along with 55kg-cadet Alec Slamen both nabbed kimekai bronze medals.
