Southern Cross Shopfitting has submitted a development application to City of Launceston council to change the Factorie signage at Shop 80-82 St John Street to Cotton On Kids.
Plans submitted to the council show the double-frontage shop will have signage on both window displays and the awning above the entrance.
IN OTHER NEWS:
New signage will be red vinyl laser cut letters, with the "Kids" component illuminated.
The awning will be repainted white, with red underneath, and the window frames painted in red and black.
Outside columns will be painted red or white and the bulkhead above the entrance repainted from grey to white.
Inside the Factorie flooring will stay, but internal walls and fitting room doors will be repainted white.
The new Cotton On Kids store will include separate sections for girlswear and boyswear, sleepwear, footwear and babywear, with fitting rooms and a play area.
Youth retailer Factorie announced its closure in May via an Instagram post.
In its post, Factorie advertised a 30 per cent off storewide sale: "We are closing down guys and gals! Come and grab a bargain while we are still here".
The development application was advertised for public comment by City of Launceston council on July 17, with advertising to close on Wednesday, July 31.
Cotton On Group, which owns both the Cotton On Kids and Factorie brands, operates seven brands in 18 countries, totalling more than 1500 stores, with 690 of those in Australia.
Other brands include Cotton On, Cotton On Body, Rubi, Typo and Supre, with all brands operating under the tagline "We exist to make a positive difference to people's lives".
"...we want to make a positive difference in the lives of everyone we touch; whether that's in our backyard or on the other side of the world. It's as simple as that," the group website states.
Cotton On Group was contacted for comment.
