Organiser of the event Petria Morris said once the weather began to clear, plenty of families came to enjoy the event.
"It [weather] is a bit of challenge but we're always optimistic," she said.
"It [Winterfest] is very established now, the community knows very well that it is happening."
In other news:
There were plenty of things to entertain children in the form of jumping castles, face painting and Shetland pony riding.
Adults could enjoy some quality local food as well as mulled gin and wine to keep warm in the wintry weather.
"Because it's a free event there's a lot of attention from the community and locals who are waiting for it to happen," Ms Morris said.
"Especially today we said 'it might be raining but let's go and make it happen,'."
The community is raising funds for four local charities as part of The Examiner's Winter Relief Appeal. Can you help?
