Treasurer Peter Gutwein brought a brick into Parliament in a bid to talk-up his recently handed down infrastructure budget.
"This budget is about building things. We will build the infrastructure that will service this state for the next 100 years," Mr Gutwein said.
Speaker Sue Hickey said the treasurer, with his parliamentary experience, should know better than to bring a prop into the house and requested Mr Gutwein apologise, which he did.
"I thought it would be educative for those on the other side (Labor) - that's what you actually build stuff with."
Mr Gutwein said the budget would create 10,000 jobs and result in $3.6 billion of infrastructure.
Thursday is the last day of House of Assembly sittings before a six-week winter break.
