Permit changes for mobile food businesses
Tasmania's lower house has made changes to the state's Food Act to allow for mobile food businesses to apply for a single statewide notification to operate.

This change means mobile food businesses would no longer need to seek notifications from councils within the municipalities in which they operate.
Health Minister Michael Ferguson said the amendment removed unnecessary duplication and improved administrative processes.
The change will now go before the Legislative Council.
