Playing in the inaugural season of the NAB League boys' competition, 18-year-old Dakin will lead the side alongside Lauderdale's Nic Baker and Clarence's Oliver Davis.
"Nic, Jared and Oliver have all been exemplary in their training across the summer, and have all displayed terrific leadership qualities," AFL Tasmania football manager Craig Notman said.
"Nic and Jared were both influential for the Tassie Mariners last year, while Oliver, at just 16 years of age, has shown that he is a real player of promise."
Coming off the round-one bye last weekend, the Devils face the Sydney Swans Academy on Saturday at Blacktown Oval with a 52-player squad recently finalised for 2019.
Both Launceston TSL clubs are well represented within the squad with eight of Dakin's Launceston team-mates named along with six Northern Bombers, including TSL premiership players Ben Simpson and Rhyan Mansell.
