Zebra colt Duke was born on Saturday morning making him the first male zebra born in Tasmania.
Senior keeper at Zoodoo Hayley Mutton said Duke's arrival has been really exciting for zookeepers and visitors alike.
"Everyone is loving it, we have the safari bus that goes into the enclosure where people get to pat the zebras," Ms Mutton said.
"It's always fun telling people the exciting news before we head in there."
In other news:
Duke's parents are Dutchess and Marty.
They were originally brought over from Texas with fellow zebra Beyonce, and are currently the only zebras to be brought into Tasmania.
It will take about three years for Duke to reach maturity, According to Ms Mutton.
"He's a clumsy little mess at the moment, we've called him 'wobbly-legs'," Ms Mutton said.
