A development application to establish a medical centre on Talbot Road has been lodged with the City of Launceston council.
The centre would feature psychologists, with the possibility of occupational therapists and speech pathologists.
The application will be for three practitioners and one part-time administration staff for two days a week, with most of the work funded through government programs such as the NDIS.
The proposal is to redevelop the existing residential building, including the addition of four car spaces at the rear of the property and three staff car spaces at the entrance.
Most of the proposed work would be internal, apart from the demolition of existing out buildings to make room for the rear car parks.
The proposed centre would be open 8.30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday and at full capacity would see 15 patients a day.
The development application is open for comments until April 3.
