Golf Tasmania operations manager Stuart Eaton said 13 teams of four competitors representing clubs from around the state will vie for the prestigious trophy.
“Launceston Golf Club’s Mitch Van Noord, Greg Longmore, Matt Marston and Cameron Bell look set to defend the title won last year on home soil,” Eaton said.
“Tasmania Golf Club will again be represented by state men’s team members Mark Schulze and Andrew Phillips, as well as Brett Geeves and Josh Spaulding.
“I would also recommend keeping a close eye on Royal Hobart Golf Club’s Joey Bower, Paul Read, Richard Kube and Josh Hill.”
Eaton said other teams expected to perform well include Kingston Beach and Prospect Vale, and last year’s Eric Bourke Memorial Trophy winners Wynyard.
Competitors take part in 18 holes of foursomes on Saturday followed by 36 holes of singles on Sunday.
