The staff allocation is part of a number of measures the Education Department is putting in place as part of the Principal Wellbeing Strategy, launched on Thursday.
"Principals play a unique leadership role in responding to these situations, however, their own support needs may not be so proactively addressed," the report read.
"Recognising this, DoE will appoint a psychologist and support staff to work closely with the principal Wellbeing Leaders during critical incidents to ensure that principals’ wellbeing needs are addressed as part of the system response."
The strategy builds on the wellbeing work done with students in the past few years and is part of a concerted push by the state government to improve mental health and wellbeing in government schools.
IN OTHER NEWS:
The release of the strategy came on the same day as the release of an annual report into principal wellbeing, which showed Tasmania had the highest rates of bullying in the country.
Bullying against principals was also most likely to be perpetrated by parents, the data showed.
It also comes the week after a Port Dalrymple teacher was injured after attempting to intervene in an altercation between two students.
Education Minister Jeremy Rockliff said being a principal had its challenges, such as the threat or prevalence of physical violence, as documented in the Riley report.
The Principal Health and Wellbeing survey, or the Riley report, is a longitudinal study that surveys participating principals on their overall health and wellbeing.
However, he said the Tasmanian principals' wellbeing strategy would help to address those concerns and provide more support for principals in their roles.
He said the principal wellbeing strategy aimed at streamlining the roles of principals and senior staff but it also encourages wellbeing across all facets.
