The OTIS Foundation provides a home away from home at no charge for people dealing with the challenges of breast cancer.
While more than 800 families across Australia benefited from the service in 2018, Tasmania remains the only state without an OTIS retreat.
OTIS Foundation's bookings coordinator Rain Millar said while Tasmanians were eligible to stay at Victorian-based retreats, interstate travel was often challenging.
"It is a matter of availability and need," she said.
"But now, with the increased demand of breast cancer affecting one in eight women, it is becoming more critical that we can help everybody.
"We prefer for people to not have to travel more than a few hours."
In other news:
The OTIS Foundation continues the legacy of Judy Burley, who lived with breast cancer for seven years before dying aged 36.
Her husband, Andrew Barling, established the foundation in 2002.
His aim was to help reduce the psychological impacts of the disease by helping breast cancer patients relax away from a hospital setting.
With more than 18,000 Australians diagnosed with breast cancer each year, Ms Millar said the majority of OTIS properties were donated by individuals who provided access to their holiday home for periods throughout the year, when it would otherwise sit vacant.
"We are looking to offer people respite and break from dealing with their diagnosis," she said.
"Often a few days is enough.
"It allows people who are experiencing the disease, to have some time with their family and loved ones. To connect and relax.
"It would be really nice if the Tasmanian community, if there is someone out there who is willing to help us support woman with a retreat."
