Ladder leader South Burnie showed no mercy to the Devonport Eagles defeating them on all rinks by 50 shots. The Eagles were no match for the dominant South Burnie combination led by the Luke Richardson, Jaryd Brown, and Jacob Brown, David Thomas rink who took Tristan Bakes, Paul Harker, John Purser and Alan Duncan to the cleaners winning 34-10.
Brother Julian Richardson won 21-20 over Ian Moore. Their father Rick was not prepared to let the boys get all the accolades, so he gathered his troops together and they proceeded to demolish the Michael Higginson rink 32-19. To cap off a good day for South, Cameron Griffiths finished 28-16 in front of Greg Williamson.
In another reasonably one sided game, Latrobe further entrenched themselves in third position with a 34 shot three rink win over Penguin. The Demons had the Garry Courtney, Callum Butler, Graeme Monson, Frederick Sheean rink on fire as they defeated Evol Kaine 37-20.
The Greg Douce rink had success, with eight up his sleeve against Wayne Manson. It was left to the Two Blues Wayne (Wriggles ) Willcox, David Jeffrey, Karen Redman and Dylan Heazlewood rink to obtain some respectability for their team by defeating Anthony Johns 31-21.
The big wins continued as fourth placed Ulverstone defeated Wynyard by a massive 49 shots, winning on all rinks in the process. Colin Willcox defeated Tony Haneveer by 16 shots 31-15, and was well supported by Robert Eudey, Bob Franklin and Damien Pankhurst.
Rocket Horton was equally impressive defeating John Neal 29-13, and Sam McLean had too much fire power for Grant Crowe defeating him by 13 shots 29-16. The closest rink of the four was the Eden Moore v Damien Symes rink which was won by Moore.
In the game of the round that had most at stake, we saw the second placed Burnie defeat the Port Sorell Sharks by nine shots 99-90.
Unfortunately the loss to the Sharks sees them 27 points behind the fourth placed Ulverstone, and with only six pennant games to go it would take a miracle for them to replace the Robins.
Top rinks for the Tigers were the Jeremy Turner, Patrick Smith rinks who both won by 10 shots against Luke Marshall and Rohan Donohue respectively. Mark Nitz won by three over Aaron Jago.
The Sharks Josh Marshall, Rod Everett, Barry Castles, Scott Jaffray defeated David Gamble 32-18, but their efforts were in vain.
