Barnbougle general manager Penny Sattler said it will be really great for spectators to see McLachlan play.
“It’s amazing, he doesn’t come and play at this kind of thing very often anymore because he’s obviously so preoccupied with his other job so it’s really exciting,” Ms Sattler.
“His whole family is coming down as well so it’ll be really nice to have them all down here to have a look at Tassie.”
Other players of note at the polo this weekend include Australian women’s captain Alessia Russo, as well as former New Zealand captain Sam Hopkinson.
Ms Sattler said all players this year are of a high standard.
“It’s always been a really good show of polo but it’s going to be a really fast-paced competitive show of actual polo which is really exciting,” she said.
This year’s polo structure will be different from previous years, with a round-robin-type tourney leading up to Saturday where the champions will be decided.
