The TIS Racing Rider from Devonport finished 12th in the combined elite/under 23 criterium, which was enough to find herself on the podium.
It continued the 18-year-old’s strong recent criterium form, after winning the Burnie Criterium and finishing third in the women’s criterium cup and sprint standing during the recent post-Christmas Tasmanian series.
The 2018 Oceania under 19 time trial champion will compete in the Tour Down Under and Herald Sun Tour following these championships as part of the UniSA-Australia women’s team and the KordaMentha Real Estate Australian National women’s team.
Friday was her first success at the under 23 level at the titles, having last year picked up a silver medal at the titles in the under 19 time trial and recording fourth place finishes in the criterium and road race.
Fellow TIS Racing rider Ruby Roseman-Gannon was third overall in the elite/under 23 road race and the gold medalist at under 23 level, with Emily Watts finishing 10th to take the silver.
It wasn’t the only North-West success at the titles, with Coastal Senior Cycling Club trio Sam Reynolds, Tim O'Shannessey and Scott Crawford picking up the silver medal for the Men 120+ Team Criterium.
Results for other Tasmanians competing on Friday include Catelyn Turner (seventh in the under 19 women’s race) and Zack Gilmore (15th in the under 23 men’s race).
Nicole Frain crashed out of the elite/under 23 women’s race.
Devonport’s Patty Best will be in action on Saturday at the para-cycling road race at Buninyong, with Louw’s road race scheduled for Sunday.
Time trials will take place Monday and Tuesday.
