To start 2019 with a relaxed day out, head to Marakoopa Cafe on Sunday. The venue’s reputation as an underground (sorry), artistic venue is rapidly growing, and this weekend they’re holding their first mini music festival. There will be a ‘one-man orchestra’ in loop-pedal artist Kenta Hayashi, reggae, and folk, along with paella, ice-cream, coffee and craft beer, all held in the shadow of the Great Western Tiers.
Or, you could call up Bridestowe Estate, and book in to one of their new tourism experiences – like soap-making, lavender cooking classes, or bear-making – after you sit and enjoy one of their famous lavender ice-creams while listening to a busker.
To keep you going into next week, have you heard about the Music at the LGH concert series? Happening once a fortnight, listen to Tasmanian musicians while you enjoy a coffee and a meal at the Frankland Cafe, Launceston General Hospital. This Wednesday, January 9, the Joe Richards Trio will be performing at lunchtime, from about 11am – 1.30pm.
Have a great weekend Northern Tasmania!
