Damian Whybrow will return to lead the 2-4 Bulldogs in Saturday’s must-win clash against Legana.
“It’s been a terrible start to the season by Cressy’s standards to be honest but we’ve had a few players out,” Whybrow said.
“We’ve got to be on our game straight after Christmas because they can do anything on their day.”
The Durhams have called up Jai Bourke and Riverside recruit Matthew Kerrison to cover Josh Allen, Aaron Dusautoy and Adam Bourke.
Coach Geoff Stick said Kerrison would strengthen his side’s batting and fielding stocks.
Star import Chathura Athukorala is fit and firing for ACL’s clash with Trevallyn.
Bluebacks captain-coach John Kedey said Athukorala’s bowling would be crucial to defending the short Legana boundaries.
“They’ve been very strong in the batting, especially when Clinton Reid has been playing so they’re a very dangerous team,” Kedey said.
“Our aim to take the first few wickets and see where we go from there, but let’s hope they had a bit too much Christmas pudding.”
BEAUTY POINT will have its hands full against an unbeaten Longford.
The Tamar Tigers will be without Gavin Nutting, Sam Cooke and Joe Bodis, with captain-coach Rob Crane unsure who will come in.
“We’ve got a few out so we’ll struggle probably against Longford but we’ll see how it goes,” he said.
“They’re a good side so we just need to try and take some early wickets and get on top of them early.”
Liam Reynolds’ HADSPEN should have a full squad for its trip to 3-3 Perth.
“They played really well first up against us and got the win, but we’re looking to bounce back and continue our form we created prior to Christmas,” Reynolds said.
