Members of the Tamar Valley Sunrise Rotary Club and Brady’s Lookout Cider stallholders Chris and Caro Brown built the furniture after years of repairing and restoring the old chairs and tables.
“Our club is all about community service,” Mrs Brown said.
After some careful planning to ensure the furniture was sturdy but could also be packed away into a container, the volunteers got to work.
Two working bees were held to complete the task.
Harvest Market manager Kim Hewitt said they are very lucky to have volunteers like Caro who bring other volunteers to Harvest.
The rotary club’s members heavily support the market throughout the year but especially during the festive season, with many regular volunteers on leave, the club steps up to fill in the gaps of the market’s roster.
Materials for the furniture were donated by the rotary club and Trailers Tasmania volunteered their time to do the welding work.
