Competing in the mixed madison with South Australian Josh Harrison, Wright hit the track hard in the opening laps and had to receive medical attention on the track before being stretchered away.
After a delay, the race resumed with Sam Welsford and Lauren Perry taking the title on 16 points, six points ahead of Zack Gilmore and Alex Manly.
Josh Duffy started his record-breaking night off on a high with a popular victory in the men’s 1000m handicap.
Duffy pinched a handy lead on final lap down the back straight and held on, much to the delight of the home crowd.
Lilliana McLennan had her wheel in front in a blanket finish of the women’s 1000m handicap, with the Queesnlander enjoying a fruitful night by also taking out the women’s B grade scratch and mystery scratch races.
Victorian Isaac Bucknell took out the men’s A grade mystery scratch race, edging out New South Wales’ Cameron Scott by just 0.02 seconds.
The women’s A grade mystery scratch race was taken out by Queensland’s Alexandra Martin-Wallace, heading off Launceston’s Georgia Baker, with South Australia’s Maeve Plouffe third.
Lacey Adams (under 13), Samuel McKee (under 15) and Jack Menzies (under 17) claimed the spoils in the three junior wheel races.
