The Huon 31-year-old and her women’s four crewmates Lucy Stephan, Katrina Werry (both Victoria) and South Australian Molly Goodman were named female crew of the year at a function held at the International Convention Centre in Sydney.
The crew, which finished second at the world championships in Bulgaria, retained the award it won last year when it claimed the world title.
Hawe has also been named as a finalist for the Tasmanian athlete of the year award, which she shared last year with Invermay bowling world champion Rebecca Van Asch.
The evening also saw a special presentation to Olympic gold medallist Kim Brennan.
The wife of Scott Brennan, Tasmania’s only Olympic champion since 2004, announced her international retirement this week.
