A Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment department spokesperson said Biosecurity Tasmania had collected the frog from the Scottsdale home of Rebecca Saunders and confirmed the probable euthanasia.
Ms Saunders discovered the frog on a bunch of bananas in her fridge after receiving a Coles Online grocery delivery.
The department has launched an investigation to find out how a live frog made it from Queensland to Tasmania.
“Trace-back and follow up are continuing,” the spokesperson said.
