Tasmania’s under 15 side got off the mark in a strong fashion at the School Sports Australia National Carnival in Adelaide on Monday with a 79-point win over the Northern Territory.

The Tasmanians controlled the contest from the outset, opening up a 42 point lead at the long break in their way to a 14.10 (94) to 2.3 (15) win.
Will Splann, from the South of the state, was the best in front of goals for Tasmania with five majors, with Sam Sherriff, Splann, Darcy Gardner and Sam Foley the state’s best quartet in the match at Maughan Thiem Hyundai Oval.
Wynyard’s Jake Dixon was also named in the best players in the victory, in what was described as a team performance.
He one of three North-West Coast products in the team, along with Jonty McIvor, who is also from Wynyard, and Ulverstone’s Liam Flanigan.
The win allowed the state to bounce back from its 35-point loss to South Australia on Sunday at Hickinbotham Oval.
Tasmania will next be in action on Wednesday against Queensland at City Mazda Stadium from 2.15pm.
