A see-sawing contest on a still day at Longford appeared to swing the way of the home side in the third quarter when Jonathon Smart, Daniel Berry and Cameron Gard helped pile on six goals in 20 minutes to establish a five-goal buffer.

Brady Demeijer converted from a courageous mark when the Parrots finally recorded a third-term inside-50 several minutes later, but few would have predicted the fightback which was to come.

Bridgenorth kicked three goals in the opening seven minutes of the quarter and not even Gard’s second could stem the flow.

Nick McElwee marked in the goalsquare to put the Parrots ahead with five minutes to go, before a Demeijer set shot from the boundary and a Matthew Zanetto goal on the siren secured a famous 15.5 (95) to 12.10 (82) win.

SOUTH LAUNCESTON returned to its early-season form with an 80-point thumping of Rocherlea.

Mid-season recruit Sonny Whiting kicked four majors to top the Bulldogs’ goalkickers for the second week running, but it was midfield star Jordan Tepper who stole the show.

The classy best-and-fairest hope dominated through the centre and got forward to kick four goals in his third best-on-ground performance for the year.

Aaron and Anthony Viney were also solid as the Bulldogs completed a 19.15 (129) to 7.7 (49) victory.

The Suburban Tigers were competitive early with three first-term goals but could not go the distance despite the best efforts of Kurt Burling and Brayden Claridge (two goals).  

A fifth-straight win has seen SCOTTSDALE jump into the top five for the first time since round three.

The Magpies kept George Town goalless in the first and third terms to march to a 17.12 (114) to 5.5 (35) victory, which was again typified by Daniel Roozendaal’s ruck dominance.

The former North Launceston star dominated around the ground and also got dangerous in the forward half to support Julian Rattray, Daniel Viney and Lee Nichols (three goals each).

Brady Gee and Cato Evans were also worthy contributors to the cause, while Matthew McKinnon and Joel Digney impressed for George Town.  

HILLWOOD snagged a crucial win over Deloraine to hold its place in the five.

The Kangaroos burst out the blocks early but a six-goal final term from the home side settled a 16.11 (107) to 9.13 (67) result.

Bradley Dikkenberg and Jake Chamberlain stepped up in the absence of star duo Adam Humzy and Dan Withers, while Nathan Pearce found ways to get forward and kicked three goals.  

Adam Linford and Jacob Wauchope led the charge for Deloraine, while Dylan Jones kicked multiple goals for the seventh time this season.
