The 18-year-old Launceston and Longford product had a sensational TAC Cup campaign with the Allies – averaging 21.5 disposals in four matches and imposing himself with elite tackling pressure through the midfield.
His Blues mentor Sam Lonergan said the Tassie Mariners captain was a ready-made AFL player.
“It’s not very often you get guys that have both characteristics where they can genuinely play at an elite level with a fantastic athletic profile, and then you get Chayce off the field who is a fantastic individual,” Lonergan said.
“It’s only a matter of time before an AFL club picks him up, and whichever club that is, they are going to be lucky enough to have Chayce for the next 10 years.”
North Hobart’s Mitchell O’Neill, 17, was included on the bench while Mariners coach Lance Spaulding was named assistant coach.
