The City Eagles endured another rough day but were well-serviced by Liam Guardia and Andrew Hinkley.

Taylor now sits six clear of the division’s reigning goalkicking champion Nicholas Child with 51 for the season.

LILYDALE pulled off one of the best final terms of the season to stun Evandale by three goals.

The Country Eagles kicked five goals to nothing in the first quarter and held the reigning champions to just 2.3 (15) in the next two terms to take a 28-point lead into the final break. 

But a stunning comeback was to follow as the Demons kicked nine goals to the scoring end in the final term to win 11.7 (73) to 8.7 (55).

Jarrod Allen and Kade Gunton were the best performers for the losing home side. 

ST PATS was held for three quarters before seeing off Old Scotch to claim an 11^th straight win.

The Thistles held strong to be just 13 points in arrears at the final change before the division’s sole unbeaten side powered ahead to win 17.12 (114) to 9.8 (62). 

Jake Laskey was best on ground for the Saints with a four-goal effort, while George Walker and Connor Dixon led the way for Old Scotch with three apiece.

PERTH recorded its first win under new coach Josh Holton and in doing so kept in touch with the top five.

The Magpies’ 18.17 (125) defeat 10.10 (70) of Meander Valley was shouldered by Darren Woodward and Nathan Worker while Brennan Savage (four goals) proved a handful up forward. 

Liam Shegog and Joel Holloway were impressive in a losing side. 

OLD LAUNCESTONIANS used the Friday night game to jump into fourth spot on the ladder with a 25.13 (163) to 5.7 (37) win over Tamar Cats.

Star forward Field Reeves kicked 10 goals in the win.
