Northern Hawks completed a sixth straight win by defeating a persistent Burnie outfit 71-58 at the Silverdome.

Solid defence work led by Danni O'Byrne and Clare McKimmie laid the foundations in the State League round 7 encounter.

Annie Gough played in her first quarter of opens netball and combined well with the fast pace of Ashton Whiley.

Ashlea Mawer remained a constant force for Hawks in goals.

Cavaliers clinched a hard fought 60-42 win against Devon.

The hosts led by one goal at quarter-time at St Brendan-Shaw College before Cavs began to pull away with some terrific intercepts and deflections in defence and through the centre court, capitalised on by their shooters.

Nine goals up at half time, they increased their advantage to 45-30 at the final break.

Player of the match was Megan Harper who shot accurately all night.

The two matches scheduled at the Hobart Netball and Sports Centre were cancelled due to the severe weather. They will be rescheduled.
