Swiss 29-year-old Simona de Silvestro is sitting 24th on the points table, but is convinced she can continue her upwards turn in form after a “disappointing” start in Adelaide.
“I think the biggest thing is I want to be running around the top 10 and it’s really difficult,” de Silvestro said.
“But that’s really the goal for any racetrack we go to, and I think if we get the car where it needs to be it’s achievable.
“Going into Tassie again you have more notes and data from last year from mistakes you did, so it just makes you a little bit more at ease going there and knowing what to expect.”
Now in her second year in the championship, de Silvestro is more experienced than the driver who took to Symmons Plains for the first time last year.
The Team Harvey Norman competitor, who avoided the pileup at last year’s first day of racing, said the course had plenty to endear it to drivers.
“The place I thought was pretty interesting, when I did the first track walk I was pretty amazed how small it was, but it creates a lot of good racing so I’m really looking forward to going there.”
