"It was great running out on to the court and to have everyone cheering for us again," 1995 Tornadoes captain Liz Dixon said.
"We hadn't played together for 10 years but we played it hard and there was still that old determination and toughness there and a lot of the crowd wanted to see us win."
Dixon said both sides went flat out for victory and bragging rights.
She said the 1995 championship team had three training sessions before the game and went through their old game-day routine of lunch beforehand at Pasta Resistance.
"Our coach Michael House had to call for oxygen for some of us at one stage of the game but we were pumping," Dixon said.
"But it ought to be said in fairness that the 2005 Tornadoes had three of their starting five in Cassie Jordan, Jennifer Crouse and Maria Harding unavailable," she said.
Dixon said that Friday's 10-year premiership reunion dinner for the 1995 team at Aurora Stadium had been an outstanding success.
"We had about 130 people there and we had a lot of laughs and reminiscing, which was the whole idea of the night, and everyone caught up and had a ball," she said.
"We hadn't seen Kaui Wakita, who played for us, since 1998 and Paula Mackrell, who went to Sydney after 1995, so it was great for everyone to catch up with them."
Dizon said she did not know if there would be another grudge rematch between the Tornadoes teams in 10 years' time.
"I'll be 54 then so I don't think I will be playing - but some of them might be," she said.
