The girls, led by coach Nic Duffy, tied for third with Western Australia on three wins, two losses and a draw throughout the tournament.
“We had a slightly higher goal percentage than WA but in School Sport Australia competitions they don’t take that into account,” Duffy said.
“We started the tournament very strongly with a first-up win against Victoria, drew with WA, defeated South Australia and ACT... and then lost to New South Wales 3-1 after not letting a goal in up to that point.
“We then lost the last game against Queensland, but if we had won, we would have claimed silver.
“Queensland got a penalty corner in the second half.”
Queensland ran out winners and NSW claimed silver.
Only five members of the Tasmanian squad had been involved in a national tournament before the games with Isabella Davie and Ashley Demarco the only Northern players involved.
Our girls did such a great job and I’m thrilled with their performance.

Duffy and team manager Anna Davie were also representing the North. “Our girls did such a great job and I’m thrilled with their performance. Traditionally Queensland and NSW are very strong sides,” Duffy said.
