Competing at the Northern Tasmanian Croquet Centre, the duo finished the two-day tournament with five wins and nine net points to edge out Devonport pair Terry and Heather Myers.
East Launceston also took third place thanks to Ruth McKean and Lee Turner, who finished with five wins and five net points.
The B grade competition was a similarly tight tussle, with East Launceston’s Paul Boer and Pat Traill leaving it until the last match to secure their championship win.
Boer and Traill finished three net points clear of Latrobe duo Steff Anderson and John Sumpton, with both teams registering five wins.
Northern croquet players will now turn their attention to the open, B and C grade pennants, which will take place at all Northern clubs from the first week of October.
