The Prince’s Square event involved wig-making workshops, a wig parade and DJ Grinning Cat spinning tunes for attendees to enjoy.
People came from around greater Launceston for the event, with a number of kids joining in on the wig parade that went around Prince’s Square.
Attending children were even introduced to a whole host of classic hits from Michael Jackson and a number of other musical giants.
The event was organised by Launceston’s own Team Textiles – an artist duo consisting of Mae Finlayson and Ashley Bird.
The duo create works by knitting, stitching and weaving different textile fabrics.
Bird said that it was very important for children to have access to events that encouraged artistic creation.
“Creativity at this age is really important,” he said.
“We do a lot of these workshops for kids, so this is specifically for wigs.
“To us, making things like this is always inspiring for them and for us.”
