Tigers captain George Bailey and former Test wicketkeeper Tim Paine were named alongside Queensland paceman Ben Cutting as the only Australians in the line-up, which also features South African stars Faf du Plessis, Hashim Amla and Morne Morkel.
The call-up means Paine will likely miss some of Tasmania’s pre-season tour of the Sunshine Coast in September, while Bailey was not named in the squad.
The duo’s selection also means that Tasmania had more representatives in the squad than England, New Zealand, Sri Lanka or Bangladesh, who contributed one player each.
No Indian players were selected in the World XI squad, which will be coached by former Zimbabwe captain Andy Flower.
The three-match series in Lahore comes as part of a push to reintroduce international cricket to Pakistan, which has struggled to host international matches since a terrorist attack in 2009 which lef several Sri Lankan cricketers injured.
The international series will be played on September 12,13 and 15.
