Heyman re-signed with the club she's played the last seven seasons for.
The 29-year-old is a former golden boot winner, but missed the second of last season due to an ankle injury.
But Garriock, the new United coach, backed the Matildas striker to bounce back to her best in the 2017-18 season.
"Not only does she bring a wealth of experience, but she is an important part of our strike force upfront this season," Garriock said.
"I am confident she can continue to be one of the top forwards in the league."
