The Hobart-born guard was the sole Tasmanian in the 12-man team playing in Taipei from August 20-29.
The tournament is designed to reflect an Olympic atmosphere with as many as eight games played in a 10-day period while the athletes live in a village.
The team consists of players under the age of 25 completing university studies. Among seven players studying in the US, Krebs, 21, is at St Mary’s College, in California, whose Gaels team competes in the West Coast Conference of the National Collegiate Athletic Association.
The team will be coached by Basketball Tasmania’s development manager Mark Radford and play pool stage games against Ukraine, Lithuania, Israel, Russia and Mozambique.
“We’ve got 12 guys that are really excited about representing Australia,” Radford said.
“We have great balance across all positions as well as in athleticism, size and scoring ability.”
