Bellchambers, 27, won a recall to the Essendon line-up to face Richmond in Saturday’s Dreamtime at the G encounter off the back of a six-goal haul in the VFL, while Tim Mohr was named on the bench for Greater Western Sydney for Sunday’s twilight clash with West Coast.
“He [Bellchambers] has been hitting the scoreboard regularly and combining that with his ruck work,” coach John Worsfold said on Essendon’s website.
“Coming into the side he’ll do the majority of the ruck work but we know with his form that he’ll be a real threat if we do put him up forward for periods.”
Bellchambers’ only game for the season was in the round six loss to Melbourne, where he had nine touches, took seven marks, kicked 1.0 and won 33 hit-outs.
Key defender Mohr, 28, last played in round nine, 2016, after fighting back from successive knee reconstructions.
Lauderdale ruckman Andrew Phillips was included on Carlton’s bench for Sunday’s match with North Melbourne, but there was no room for North Hobart’s Liam Jones.
North Hobart’s Henry Schade was dropped for Collingwood, as was Glenorchy’s Ryan Harwood for Brisbane, for Sunday’s match.
