LAUNCESTON batsman Alex Doolan was presented with this season’s Ricky Ponting Medal at the annual Cricket Tasmania awards night in Hobart on Thursday.

Dolan scored 362 runs at an average 120.66 in the one-day competition and 257 in the Sheffield Shield – including a career-high unbeaten 202.
Tigers skipper George Bailey was crowned four-day player of the year, Doolan secured the limited overs gong and Englishman Stuart Broad was judged the Hobart Hurricanes’ best asset.
The night also celebrated the 10th anniversary of Tasmania’s maiden Sheffield Shield win.
