The Premier League best and fairest medal will be named after Beauty Point champion Jason Savage.
President Darrell Whyte said it was a straight-forward decision for the TCL executive.
“Jason has been an outstanding cricketer over the past 25 years, winning the competition most valuable player 10 times in a row, collecting numerous batting and bowling awards and has been in the TCL team of the year since its inception.
“He has also represented the TCL for the past six years and overall is an outstanding leader for his club. The TCL committee thought that it was a good idea to name the medal after a player as it is a player’s award, and the only name that was outstanding and kept popping up was Jason Savage.”
The TCL will hold its 2016-17 presentation dinner at Country Club Tasmania on Saturday.
